WBO lightweight champion Terence Crawford squared-up to opponent Yuriorkis Gamboa on Thursday as the two talented fighters went through the final press conference rituals for their clash on Saturday night in Omaha.
Both undefeated, neither seemed flustered by the other as they sized each other up ahead of Friday’s weigh-in.
Crawford, who took the title from Ricky Burns last time out in Glasgow, stated: “Saturday is going to be a great fight. I never overlook an opponent. I train my heart out because you never know with boxing. Anything might happen but I assure you that I trained the hardest. I’m just ready for whatever he brings to the table,” whilst challenger and former unified featherweight king Gamboa said: “I’d like to thank Terence and his team for accepting this challenge and I look forward to fighting on the 28th.”
Terence Crawford v Yuriorkis Gamboa is live on HBO from 10pn on Saturday night and also on BoxNation in the UK from 1.30am
