Famed trainer Nacho Beristain has recovered enough from his week-long hospital stay to return to his usual position in the corner for his team of fighters.

Hall of Famer Beristain, approaching his 75th birthday, will be by the side of super-bantamweight prospect Rey Vargas as the 23-year-old Mexican takes on Vergel Nebran at the Explanada Municipal in Tlalnepantla.

Talented Vargas will be defending his perfect 19-fight record against the Filipino on Satuday night and the WBC Youth silver title.

He picked up the strap in October 2013 with a victory over Yuki Murai in Toluca.

The youngster will now have his experienced coach giving him instructions after Beristain returns from fighting a sudden illness that struck him two weeks ago.

Beristain has been resting at home recently following his spell under a doctor’s supervision, but now hopes to get the green light to begin working again at his world-renowned Romanza Gym in the next few days.

Some of the fighters who have fought under Beristain’s guidance in the past and present include a welterweight legend, Juan Manuel Marquez.

Also, world champion Abner Mares and ten-time world champion Oscar De La Hoya.
