EXCLUSIVE: Sakio Bika backs Carl Froch, hints at future unification

Froch, 36, defends his IBF and WBA titles against George Groves tonight, an event that Bika has flown in to attend, with the Cameroonian fighter backing ‘The Cobra’ to prevail in a hard fought contest.

Whispers have been heard during fight week that a potential three-belt battle between Froch and Bika could be in the pipeline if the titles stay with the favourite tonight, with James DeGale also being pushed as a next in line.

Under the rules, two belt holders facing each other would push the winner of DeGale v Gonzales back and force them to wait, although nothing can be negotiated until the dust settles on tonight’s event.

“I think that Carl Froch will win a hard close fight against George Groves on points,” Bika told World Boxing News.

“I believe his experience will see him through tonight, but whether we will fight is something that I will leave to my manager and Eddie Hearn to talk about,” he added.
