Chris Eubank Jr went through the motions against hapless Pole Robert Swierzbinski at the Olympia in a fight that was initialliy delayed after the middleweight star left his boots at the hotel.
Once the fight did get underway, Eubank put on a powerful display in dropping his opponent seven times on his way to a seventh straight stoppage win in the seventh round.
The 24 year-old is now 15-0 following what was an easy nights work and now moves on to a considerably bigger name on the undercard of Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora’s rematch on July 26.
Earlier, former Olympian Thomas Stalker had no problems negotiating the challenge of Ryan Hardy as the hometown favourite out-skilled the Yorkshireman over eight rounds.
‘The Captain’ showed a good range of punching throughout the contest, with the uppercut down the middle hitting the target on more than one occasion in the fight.
Upon the completion of the fight, third man in the ring Michael Alexander could only give the game Hardy a share of one round as Stalker claimed an 80-73 victory.
Terry ‘Turbo’ Flanagan made light work of Yordan Vasiliev as the former Prizefighter champion scored a hurtful second round stoppage to remain undefeated.
The 24 year-old, who was fighting up a light-welterweight, improved his record to 24-0 with a ninth career stoppage and is now in line for some bigger contests at his usual weight of 135lbs.
Amateur star Joe Costello demolished Yousef Al Hamidi on his pro debut, taking just 127 seconds to end the contest and move on.
Also on the bill in Liverpool, there were points wins for Jack Catterall, Nathan Brough and Craig Evans over eight rounds, whilst Tommy Langford carded a five round techincal decision triumph as all four kept their unbeaten records in tact.
