Juan Carlos Reveco made a successful fourth defence of the WBA flyweight title when the Argentine stopped challenger Manuel Vides in Buenos Aries on Friday night.

The rugged 30 year-old finished the fight in the second round after applying sufficient pressure to force the referee to step in and save Vides from further punishment.

Elsewhere in California, Vanes Martirosyan made an impressive comeback from suffering his first defeat to Demetrius Andrade in November by dropping Mario Lozano en route to a one-sided points win.

US-based Armenian Martirosyan, 27, put Lozano on the canvas in the second round and was rarely troubled throughout the fight to card a 100-89 victory on all three judges scorecards.

Also on the bill, younger brother Vatch Martirosyan made it two knockouts from his three professional contests by halting winless Gustavo Lopez one minute into the third round.

The chief support bout at the Morongo Casino Resort event saw Anthony Peterson improve to 33-1 with a dominant 100-90, 99-91, 98-92 triumph after ten rounds with Dominican Marcos Jimenez.

Peterson, 29, has now won three straight fights since losing via disqualification to Brandon Rios in 2010 and could be in line for a world lightweight title shot this year.
