Peter Fury explains the release of Team Fury member
Boxing trainer Peter Fury has given WBN an exclusive insight into the reasons behind Team Fury’s parting of ways with website and merchandising associate Pa Ward.
Heavyweight contender Tyson Fury made the original announcement earlier this week that Team Fury no longer had any more involvement with Ward and Peter has now further outlined the decision in more detail.
“For some time now, we have received various complaints from our fanbase relating to the running of the site,” Fury told World Boxing News.
“Other things besides the website were also found not to be correct relating with business matters. After being held in a position of trust, Pa Ward was seemingly acting on his own accord and breached that position of trust.
“Once the made us aware, Pa did the right thing and honoured those fans, with grievance. However, issues then arose between him and us directly involving merchandise and unauthorized actions. Therefore, we at Team Fury decided it is best we close all relations with Pa Ward and he is now unable to act on any basis with Team Fury.
“We wish the guy all the best in the future.”
Peter is currently weighing up the next moves for highly-ranked Tyson, unbeaten son Hughie, former world title challenger Eddie Chambers and the rest of the team as big plans are ahead for Team Fury for the rest of 2014.
