Following an announcement by Frank Warren that Fury will co-feature with old foe Dereck Chisora next month, Browne’s name was immediately rumoured for the clash as the Aussie expressed his interest in fighting the former British champion last week.

‘Big Daddy’ has today ruled out the fight happening so soon though and wants to keep concentrating on picking up his first title after positioning himself as the mandatory challenger for the Commonwealth title.

“I have spoken to people in the know and It won’t be me fighting Fury at this point in time,” Browne told World Boxing News on Wednesday.

“Right now, I am focused on fighting for the vacant Commonwealth title in April, so maybe later in the year I could face the winner of Fury v Chisora’s rematch.”

Browne, 34, is currently slated to fight on April 3 at the Melbourne Pavilion in Victoria, Australia, although no word of an opponent has come yet from the fighter or his promoter Ricky Hatton.
