Daniel Geale set to return against Garth Wood on February 19

The 32 year-old last fought in August when dethroned of his IBF belt by Briton Darren Barker in Atlantic City and is now ready to make his comeback at the Horden Pavilion.

‘The Real Deal’ enjoyed a fine two-year period between 2011 and 2013 when realising his dream of becoming a recognised title holder, but now faces the tough task of climbing back up – beginning with the ex-Contender champion, 35.

Wood, who holds an avenged win over Shane Mosley conqueror Anthony Mundine from 2010, is currently the WBA Pan African champion which saw him almost clinch a shot at the interim belt until Visa problems for Martin Murray scuppered the fight.

The evenual victor from next month’s encounter will move a step closer to one of the current title holders at 160lbs, with Geale heading into the contest as a slight favourite on recent opponents faced alone.

2012 Olympian Damien Hooper is scheduled to feature on the undercard. Hooper, 21, has scored six straight knockouts since turning pro in April and will be aiming to build towards more honours in 2014.
