Magomed Abdusalamov moved to rehabilitation facility

The big-punching 32 year-old fighter was in a critical condition at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City after sharing ten punishing rounds with Cuban Perez at the Theater in Madison Square Garden last month.

After being operated on successfully, Abdusalamov was placed in a coma to avoid the dangers of excessive brain damage, but still won’t know how he will function for the foreseeable future the completion of around 90 days of therapy.

Abdusalamov certainly will not fight again following the brutal encounter which culminated in the first defeat of his career, and now has to just focus on getting well enough to live a full life with his wife and children.

Russian billionaire Andrey Ryabinsky has already agreed to foot the bill for any treatment his compatriot requires throughout his rehab following an outcry from the boxing community, in the wake of what were near-fatal events for Abdusalamov.

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz and his son Nathan have been constantly updating the media on Abdusalamov and his brave battle, with this latest news coming as a big relief to all in the boxing community pulling the likeable Russian.
