WBA confirm Mosley v Mundine is a goner

The eagerly-anticipated light-middleweight bout between three-weight world champion Shane Mosley and Home fighter Anthony Mundine, sheduled for Wednesday, has been called off at the last minute.

In accordance to reports, WBA VP Gilberto Mendoza has rubberstamped the news to WBN that the proposed WBA 154lb eliminator between the two former title holders will not take place due a contractual dispute raise by Mosley.

Instead of continuing his recent good form, the American will now be returning home amidst a haze of disappointment that the fight between him and Mundine never came to fruition.

Golden Boy Promotions, who take care of Mosley’s affairs, have also confirmed the news and will take no further part in the event, which was set to take place at the Entertainment Centre in Sydney in front of a near sold-out audience.
