Mike Alvarado was forced to weigh-in more than once to keep his WBO light-welterweight belt in preparation for his upcoming title defence against Ruslan Provodniov in Denver, Colorado.
The home fighter initially scaled a pound over before returning from a stint in his own gym just under two hours later to hit the mark. Opponent Provodnikov had no such trouble as he himself made 139.8lbs at the first time of asking despite coming down from 147.
Former world champion Juan Diaz weighed in 135.5lbs, whilst Juan Santiago made 134.5lbs prior to their match-up on the undercard.
