Street-fighting legend Kimbo Slice is primed for an eighth professional boxing outing in the near future after an extended period out of the ring, promoter Gary Shaw has exclusively told World Boxing News today.
Fans of the big-hitting former MMA star have grown frustrated at the lack of activity from Slice in the last nine months following his win over Shane Tilyard in Australia last January and Shaw has assured me that his return is imminent.
The 39 year-old, real name Kevin Ferguson, has pounded out six of his seven opponents since entering the sweet science in a blaze of publicity two years ago and has earned a reputation as the new king of the four rounder with some spectacular knockouts.
Three of those seven wins have lasted less than a minute as fans flock to see the fight legend in action as a prizefighter and Shaw has moved to reassure those following Slice that his boxing chapter is not yet over.
Ferguson’s pro run has come late in his career and on the back of stints in several full-contact disciplines, with the most notorious being the Bahaman-born slugger’s YouTube ‘Backyard Brawl’ videos – most of which have gone viral since being uploaded.
