WBN Photo: Mayweather shows off mammoth $40.8m fight paycheck

Pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. has posted his latest bankbusting paycheck the current two-weight world title holder earned for his scintilating display against Saul Alvarez on September 14.

The 36 year-old, who won a landslide decision in most peoples eyes, was controversially awarded a majority victory in a fight that was never in doubt against the previously unbeated Mexican.

After deductions from his $41.5million earnings, ‘Money’ Mayweather took home a minimum $40.8million for his 36 minutes in the ring and will be handed another massive amount from pay-per-view revenue in the near future.

‘The One’ topped the previous all-time money generated by a PPV event, which was held by Mayweather and Alvarez’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya as they battled over twelve rounds at the MGM Grand in 2007.
