Ashley Theophane in line for Floyd Mayweather shot

The 33-year-old, who recently signed a three-year deal with The Money Team, will be considered as a future challenger to mentor Floyd Mayweather after the pound-for-pound king declared all fighters under his banner as possible opponents.

“I’m Floyd Mayweather; I can turn any fighter into a star. I don’t worry about running out of opponents. I’ve got guys under my banner I can turn into stars and fight,” stated Mayweather this week, giving Theophane the chance to earn a massive pay-day within his contract.

Floyd’s admission could also affect the likes of light-middleweight operators Chris Pearson (8-0, 7 KO’s) and IBF champion Ishe Smith and could earn the suitor around $10million if Mayweather desires an in-house fight.

In all seriousness, though, it may be a long-shot that any TMT fighters will be needed as fodder for Mayweather as there seems to be an abundance of bigger-name alternatives, with Timothy Bradley, Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan, and Devon Alexander just a handful of those.

A win against Cano, 23, for the experienced Theophane, though, will open up a whole new window of opportunity for the now-settled welterweight contender, with a world title shot certainly in the offing down the line.
