Top Rank make Burns v Beltran complaint, WBO give Hearn 10 days to respond
Ray Beltran’s promoters Top Rank have made an official complaint to the World Boxing Organisation following the Mexican’s draw with lightweight champion Ricky Burns last weekend.
The 33 year-old looked to have done enough to take the belt away from the Scotsman in his home country after Beltran broke Burns’ jaw in the second round.
Only one judge handed the fight to Beltran after twelve rounds and Top Rank have rightly felt the need for action to be taken by the WBO. Burns’ promoter Eddie Hearn has been given until next week to respond.
