Two world championship bouts take place in Argentina and Mexico later this month as Juan Carlos Reveco and Miguel Vazquez put their respective titles on the line on home soil.
Reveco, 30, defends his WBA flyweight belt against Panamanian Ricardo Nunez in Mendoza, whilst 26 year-od Vazquez hands Ammeth Diaz a redemption attempt of their one-sided bout in 2012 at Caliente Racetrack in Tijuana on September 28.
Vazquez was due to face WBO champion Ricky Burns in a high-profile unification earlier this year until the bout fell through at the last minute. The bout could still be resurrected in 2014 although Vazquez must repeat his win of last year as Burns has to negotiate Ray Beltran next weekend.
Also having an outing on the same night is Mexican multi-weight world champion Humberto Soto, who will hope to continue his winning run since losing in five rounds at the Staples Center to Lucas Matthysse in 2012.
33 year-old Soto will defend his fringe WBC light-welterweight belt against Frenchman Ali Chebah, who returns for the first time in two years following his loss to Olusegun Ajose when so close to a world title shot.
A win for Soto should move him closer to a chance against one of the 140lb title holders in the coming year, whilst Chebah can ill afford another defeat that could fatally dent his world title credentials.
