The most lucrative heavyweight event of the year between dominant Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko and emerging star Alexander Povetkin is taking shape for October 5 after three undercard bouts were confirmed to WBN by promoter Vlad Hrunov.
The main event sees four-belt title holder Klitschko put his belts up against WBA regular champion Povetkin in a multi-million dollar battle to find out the best fighter in the top division today.
Klitschko, 37, is widely recognised as the best heavyweight in the world today and could charge towards a decade undefeated, whilst Povetkin looks to keep his perfect record intact.
In support, two big cruiserweight bouts will be showcased in Russia as Rakhim Chakhkiev returns from his loss to WBC champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk against an opponent to be finalised and Mateusz Masternak puts his European belt on the line against Grigory Drozd.
Also on the bill, former world heavyweight title holder Ruslan Chagaev aims to keep up his impressive recent form against veteran Serbian Jovo Pudar as the ‘White Tyson’ edges closer to possible clash with the winner of the headline encounter.
More bouts are understood to be in the works for the massive night at the Olympic Stadium in Moscow and will be announced in due course.
