Mundine given his Mosley wish for October at 154

The 38 year-old, who last fought in January losing to compatriot Daniel Geale, is looking to get back in the mix for a potential fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2014 and believes Mosley is the ideal name to give him that chance.

The fight would certainly represent a last chance for ‘The Man’ to keep himself involved at the top end of the world rankings, with another defeat unthinkable at this stage of Mundine’s career.

Mosley, 41, will be no pushover though as the Californian is once again on the up after his recent win over Pablo Cesar Cano in Mexico, with the victor in line for another world title shot at light-middleweight in 2014.

The three-weight world champion is stepping up his activity in order to gain one final push at a belt holder at 154 and may go into the fight as a slight favourite to overhaul Mundine.

More details are yet to emerge on the exciting clash, although it is believed to be taking place in Sydney, Australia around mid-October as both fighters bank bumper pay checks for the high-profile encounter.
