Mundine remains hopeful as Mosley deal hangs in the balance

Mundine, who last fought in losing against old rival and current IBF champion at 160lbs Daniel Geale in January, has put together a package to entice ‘Sugar’ Shane down under in October, but as things stand is no nearer to completing the formalities for the clash.

“I am still trying to finalize the contracts for Mosley,” Mundine told World Boxing News.

“I hope it gets done soon as this is the big fight I need to get me back in the mix.”

The 38 year-old has noted his ambition to one day share a ring with pound for pound number one Floyd Mayweather Jr. on more than one occasion to WBN in the past and knows a high-profile win on his resume is needed to begin his quest to fight the best out there.

Time is running out for the three-weight belt holder to realise his dream though as the rejuvenated Mosley ponders offers from around the globe at both welterweight and light-middleweight following his winning return against Mexican Pablo Cesar Cano earlier this year.
