Jones: Brook was lucky I didn’t bite his face off at the staredown!

The pair last fought a year ago on Brook’s home turf and Jones has been hurting for the duration of that time after losing a close decision to the Yorkshireman – something his intends to put right in Hull this weekend.

Jones and Brook have a fiery past to say the least at public appearances and the outspoken Oklahoma puncher admits that tempers could flare it any moment between the two in the build-up to the upcoming rematch.

“I was so hyped earlier,” stated Jones. “Kell was lucky I didn’t bite his face off during the staredown and there is going to be a lot of sad faces after this fight.

Jones has also been quoted as recited the old famous Rocky IV phrase: ‘If he dies, he dies.’ as interest in the fight grows on the back of Brook’s extended period out injured.

The 26 year-old has seen his own career stagnate since pushing Brook at the way at the Motorpoint Arena in 2012 and will hope to make another impression to improve his world ranking, along with his ‘who needs him club’ reputation.

Expect more of the same when the pair meet again at this Friday’s weigh-in.
