Nonito Donaire praises nine-month pregnant wife for saving drowning child

The 30 year-old, who held world titles in four different weight classes before recently losing to Guillermo Rigondeaux, reported the scary moment when his nine-month pregnant wife jumped into the water to save the boy – suffering a pulled ligament in the process.

“During 4th of July, a friend’s son disappeared underneath the water. Rachel didn’t hesitate to jump in to save the kid but injured herself in the process,” stated Donaire. “She moved so quickly it scared me,” he added.

In his latest update on the commendable act by Rachel, super-bantamweight star Donaire has confirmed that his wife is fine and looking forward to the birth of their first offspring in just over two weeks’ time. ‘The Filipino Flash’ also thanked all the wellwishers for their prayers in what could have been a much worse incident.

Model Rachel has now been told to rest for a few days by doctors monitoring her situation.

‘The Knockout Queen’ as Donaire’s other half is known to her Twitter fans, is expecting the couples first child on the 17th.
