Bollywood actor and producer John Abraham has announced plans to make a movie on boxing and wants new business partner and former world heavyweight champion David Haye to take the lead role.

The 40 year-old spoke of his intentions at a press conference to confirm his new venture with Haye, that will include opening a new ‘Hayemaker Gym’ in Dubai and promoting boxing through his connections in the fitness world.

“I grew up on the Rocky series and that’s why I went to the gym too. I would like to make a credible film where boxing is taken seriously and I want people to see my film and say that’s a first timer in India,” explained Abraham,

“I expressed my plan about the film that I am planning to make it on boxing. That’s when he (David Haye) showed interest in the project and said he wants to work together.

“With the kind of films that are being accepted today, I feel, with the capacity of a producer and an actor, someone like David would be far more accepted when he comes onscreen and shows boxing in a (new) light.”

Haye, 32, has made no secret of the fact that he sees his life after the ring involved in front of the camera in some capacity as an actor, with Abraham now offering to give the ex-champ a leg up once he hangs up his gloves.

Firstly, the Londoner is hoping to regain the sports biggest prize, although an attempt to lure compatriot Tyson Fury into a huge domestic battle have recently stalled as negotiations for a September clash faltered.
