‘Big Rogie’ backs Haye to destroy Fury

Former Prizefighter champion Martin Rogan has warned ex-opponent Tyson Fury to be weary of accepting a fight with David Haye as the unbeaten contender would face certain defeat, according to the Irishman.

Rogan, 42, is currently planning his comeback following defeats to Fury and Audley Harrison over the past fourteen months and hopes to be in the mix with the likes of Sam Sexton and Dereck Chisora before too long.

The Belfast fighter, who was dropped and stopped in five rounds by 24 year-old Fury in April 2012, has backed two-weight world title holder Haye, 32, to do a number on the 6ft 9ins bruiser as rumours of a multi-million pound September showdown persist.

“I think Haye will destroy him. David will not be scared of Tyson and if I was Tyson I would be wary of Haye,” Rogan told the Belfast Newsletter.

“He (Haye) is a great fighter, he’s dedicated and he can bang. Haye, Fury and Wladimir Klitschko all have fought (Dereck) Chisora. Haye put him to sleep while Fury and Wladimir could not stop Chisora.

“Haye and his coach Adam Booth just get on with their business and they will have a game plan for Tyson,” he added.

On his own return this year, Rogan stated: “I want to face Sam Sexton again, I want to fight Dereck Chisora and I want to knock-out Darren Corbett. Those are the guys I want to take care of first and then we will see what is next?”
