Andrew Flintoff leaves boxing after one fight

Former cricket all-rounder Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff leaves boxing activity in the professional ranks undefeated after stating that his one-fight foray into the sport last year would be his last.

The 35-year-old, who defeated American Richard Dawson on points at the Manchester Arena in November, is to step away after suffering a serious shoulder injury during the bout.

Flintoff was ridiculed in some quarters in his attempts to become a fighter but held himself with dignity and professionalism throughout his involvement in what is one of the toughest ways to make a living.

The one-time England star, who claimed a famous Ashes won in 2005, now bows out with a perfect record and back to his regular slot on Sky One series ‘A League of their Own and various other projects.
