Riddick Bowe vs. Mark Potter set for August 3 in Leicester

Bowe, who has been slated for an active return to boxing for the last few years, is only stepping back in the ring for what will be a three-two-minute round exhibition with Potter, who doctors recently advised to retire.

A former British title challenger, Potter most famously lost out to a one-armed Danny Williams in 2000 before switching his allegiance to MMA and had a successful stint up until eye damage forced him to step down this year.

“It’s an honor to be in the same ring as a living legend,” Potter told World Boxing News.

“I know all about Riddick as I watch nearly all his fights, and I know all his moves. He doesn’t know me or what I’m about, but after the bell rings and at the end, he’ll know all about ‘The White Shark.”

The American is also lining up a charity bout in Hull against former Rugby League start and current Hull FC coach Lee Radford on July 25 in what is turning out to be a whistle-stop tour for Bowe.
