The Independence Ground in Floriana, Malta will play host to a big night of boxing on July 26 as Vaughan Boxing present a show featuring a top of the bill light-flyweight world title contest.
Mzuvukile Magwaca and Eliecer Quezada are ready to contest the WBF 108lb title on the night, which will also see Liverpool’s former WBU and Commonwealth lightweight champion David Burke continue his comeback.
South African Magwaca, ranked number 15 by the WBA, is promoter Stephen Vaughan’s latest recruit and boasts an 11-0-1 record since turning pro, whilst opponent Quezada, 21, is a former Nicaraguan national title holder and holds 14 wins from his 19 contests.
Meanwhile the returning Burke, 38, will have a six-round dress rehearsal on June 7 in Saint Paul’s Bay before contesting a lightweight ten-rounder against an as yet un-named opponent.
The southpaw had been out of the ring for eight years until his return at the Echo Arena in February where he lost in four rounds against Dean Mills and ‘Burkey’ will look to put that right in his second outing of the year next month.
Adding more weight to the outdoor card are Malta’s own Daniel Micaleff, Clayton Vella and Arouna Caribally, with Vaughan looking to add at least two more bouts to card in the near future.
