The 30 year-old was ordered to defend the British title against Bob Ajisafe upon the completion of his first bout with Chilemba in March, although after the two fought to a draw a return was quickly arranged.
They pair meet once again on the Froch v Kessler II undercard in London later this month and Bellew has now lost the coveted domestic belt so that Ajisafe can contest it with old foe Ovill McKenzie later this year.
Purse bids are set for June 12 for the new title contest, which is also a rematch after Ajisafe won an eight round decision over McKenize in 2009 – with the fight set to take place no later than September 2013.
