Assault charges filed against Deontay Wilder

Heavyweight colossus Deontay Wilder is facing a domestic assault charge after being arrested on Saturday night in Las Vegas as he took in the atmosphere surrounding Floyd Mayweather v Robert Guerrero.

Wilder, 27, appeared in court on Monday and has been ordered to appear again on July 3 after being released on $15,000 bail.

The American ended the career of former Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison on his UK debut at the end of last month and just a week later has landed himself in some hot water.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ has 28 knockout from 28 wins so far in the top division and is widely tipped as a heavyweight champion of the future after scoring some spectacular stoppages since turning pro in 2008.
