Mike Perez scores dominant ten-round decision over Travis Walker

Cuban heavyweight Mike Perez has predictably taken his record to 19-0 tonight with an easy unanimous points win over American veteran Travis Walker at the SAP-Arena in Mannheim, Germany.

The 27 year-old, out of action since December 2011, controlled the majority of the contest and at times looked capable of stopping Walker, 33, but ultimately saw out a ten round victory without setting the world alight.

Perez will now need to keep up his activity if he wants to be taken seriously as a possible contender to top of the bill Wladimir Klitschko in the future, but no doubt has the talent to be a world champion of the future.

On the other hand, Walker drops his tenth loss from 50 contests and is in danger of falling into the journeyman category on recent form – after initially showing promise earlier in his career until the ‘Freight Train’ suffered a string of stoppage losses.
