Former world champion Enzo Maccarinelli dropped Carl Wild painfully in the final round to score a sixth round stoppage win and improve his record to 36-6 with his first victory for over a year in London.
The 32 year-old was due to challenge Commonwealth title holder Ovill McKenzie in a rematch of their March 2012 clash, although the Derby man had to pull out through injury and Maccarinelli’s 28th career knockout could now mean the bout is resurrected.
2012 Olympic boxing captain Tom Stalker claimed a third professional triumph by out-pointing former Scott Harrison opponent Gyorgy Mizsei Jr. The Liverpudlian produced a workman-like performance to take every round of his first six session contest and now moves on to another outing on June 7 in his home city.
Also on the Wembley Arena card, new Frank Warren signing Joe Murray carded a narrow 78-76 win over Dai Davies to shake of the cobwebs of inactivity. There were also wins for Joey Taylor, Gary Corcoran, Matthew Fagan, Miles Shinkwin and John Thain.
