IBF: Alexander v Bizier negotiations ‘must begin immediately’

Yvon Michel, Bizier’s promoter provided a letter to WBN stating that his fighter is destined to meet the IBF welterweight champion next after Brook suffered a foot injury in training, which put an end to his mandatory bid to fight ‘The Great’ at the Boardwalk Hall.

“Negotiations should start immediately and be concluded by May 16, 2013,” read the official IBF letter,

The 28 year-old Canadian has worked his way to being the next contender after building a 20-0 record with 14 stoppages and holds a fringe version of the IBF belt after defeating former unified lightweight king Nate Campbell in February at the Bell Centre.

The Quebec-born fighter is in training for his own contest against an un-named opponent on May 25, but if negotiations to face Alexander can be concluded, Bizier would certainly be in the right shape to make the May 18 date currently held by Golden Boy.
