Much-touted pound for pound star of the future Adrien Broner was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of his arrest in Miami, which has now been attributed to the boxer biting a security guard at Fontainebleau Hotel.
According to the Miami Huffington Post, who claim to have seen the arrest report, the 23 year-old was involved in an altercation with Michael Owensby at 3:30am, which hotel security attempted to break-up leading to Broner biting one of them of the right forearm.
Current WBC lightweight champion Broner has since made light of his brush with the law, for which a $1,500 bond was posted for his release – although his reputation will have no doubt taken a dent due to the very nature of his actions.
More disruption could be on the horizon for Broner as his TV future is currently in doubt after HBO decided to drop his promoter’s Golden Boy from appearing on the network. Some rumours are already circulating that ‘The Problem’ may now be considering his future with Oscar De La Hoya as he prefers to remain with the broadcaster.
