Ricky Burns v Miguel Vazquez rumours swirl again

The lightweight unification clash between WBO title holder Ricky Burns and IBF champion Miguel Vazquez has come under scrutiny again with just two weeks left until the fighters are due to share a ring.

According to Scottish new website STV, the fight is in doubt as terms are still yet to be agreed and a statement is expected from Frank Warren regarding the situation in the next 24 hours.

Previous rumours began when a video shot by American reporter Elie Seckbach two weeks ago showed Mexican Vazquez claiming that the fight was ‘not concrete’ leading to a signed document and photo being published of an apparent agreement between the fighters by Frank Warren Promotions.

This latest report will be another blow to Warren as one of his star fighters on the March 16 Wembley Arena bill in George Groves, is rumoured to be jumping ship to Matchroom Sport on Monday.
