A second fight between heavyweights Sonny Bill Williams and Francois Botha, hot on the heels of their first controversial meeting has been agreed, according to Afrikaans newspaper Rapport.
New Zealand rugby star Williams, 27, and former world title challenger Botha clashed earlier this month, with more than one aspect of their fight coming under scrutiny as ‘SBW’ won a points decision.
Firstly, the bout was cut from twelve rounds to ten mid-fight as Williams struggled with the pace of the fight, after which 44 year-old Botha was accused of failing a drugs test – before then stating he was offered a bribe to throw the fight.
Now the two could be set to do it all over again, this time in Botha’s backyard in South Africa and both sides will be hoping for a less intense outcome than the one that took place at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
Durban or Cape Town are being touted as early favourites to stage the rematch.
