Hyde: Rigondeaux contract signed, time for Donaire to go to school!

Rumours had been continuous in the boxing world that the fight was signed, but until now, Cuban star and WBA belt holder Rigondeaux had not released the final details of his contract for the unification bout at 122lbs.

The 32 year-old is now all set for an April 13 showdown with the WBO champion at a venue to be determined and manager Gary Hyde is convinced the clash will be the realisation of a life’s work for the talented southpaw.

“I have just received the Rigondeaux-Donaire contract signed by ‘Rigo’,” Hyde told World Boxing News.

“I have also signed it and sent it to Top Rank and in two months from tomorrow, ‘Rigo’ will enter the world’s pound for pound best fighters when he schools Donaire.

“Rigo will put on an amazing display of technical boxing, together with huge punch power and Donaire will realise that he has never faced an opponent who punches as hard as him.”
