Floyd Mayweather plans Super Bowl fight announcement

WBN has exclusively learned that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is to announce his 44th career opponent around the time of Superbowl XLVII as the American plots his first ring appearance since spending time in jail last year.

The 35 year-old, who is streets ahead of any other fighter on the planet in regards to standing and earnings in boxing, is expected to confirm Robert Guerrero as his next challenger on February 3 for the WBC welterweight title currently in his possession.

The pound for pound king’s ‘Cinco de Mayweather’ card is already set for May 4, with Mexican superstar Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez lined-up for a chief support slot for the second time in succession.

WBC light-middleweight champion Alvarez has agreed to provide back-up for Mayweather as he did last May against Shane Mosley, with the promise of a meeting with the ‘Money’ man in September and could confirm Austin Trout for the spring date.
