Mosley plans salvage talks with Malignaggi today

Three-weight world champion ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley has exclusively told WBN that he will contact WBA welterweight title holder Paul Malignaggi today in a bid to rescue a potential fight between the two in April.

The 41 year-old, who reversed his decision to retire following his lost to Saul Alvarez in May last year, has seemingly dropped behind Marcos Maidana and mandatory challenger Diego Chaves in recent days, but still hopes to oppose the champion at the Barclay’s Center.

Californian Mosley is not ready to consider other options as yet and will continue his pursuit of a title shot against the New Yorker as he seeks his first victory in over four years on his impending comeback.

Malignaggi, 32, has already announced his intention to move on from a bout with Mosley though after calling out a responsive Maidana and also has to consider Chaves after the WBA put the interim title holder forward for negotiations before February 23.
