Legendary trainer Freddie Roach has stated that fallen champion Manny Pacquiao has been offered a big money fight in Dubai this coming April, according to United Arab Emirates website Sport360.
Roach, who faces the task of readying Pacquiao for his return from a bad knockout to Juan Manuel Marquez, revealed that he is intrigued by the offer which was put on the table earlier this week.
“I got a phone call from someone in Dubai on Monday, who offered $10million for Manny to fight there in April,” Roach confirmed.
“But I told him to call Bob Arum because I don’t make his fights; I just get him ready.
“A place like Dubai for a fight could be great. It’s a great location for pay-per-view and TV networks and it would be seen worldwide. There would definitely be a lot of interest for a fight to take place there so it has the potential to be a great event.”
Pacquiao, 34, is intent on returning for a warm-up fight in April as the Filipino sets his sights on avenging the crushing loss to Marquez, although as Carl Moretti told WBN today, the fight is a long way off confirmation.
