James DeGale has decided to defend his European super-middleweight title after all and will now face Mouhamed Ali N’Diaye on January 26th at Bluewater in Kent as planned.

The 26 year-old had relinquished the title in favour of improving his ranking after claiming the WBC Silver super-middleweight title, but will now give mandatory challenger N’Diaye this earned title challenge next month.

The Olympic gold medallist will put the EBU title on the line for the third time in his second outing at the Glow venue, before his concentrates on some bigger contests in future against the likes of world champions Arthur Abraham and Carl Froch.

Senegal-born Italian N’Diaye, 33, has lost just once in 23 bouts in his career and held the EU version of the title until recently after claiming it at the second attempt against Spaniard Jose Maria Guerrero.
