The 50-year-old was shot in the face in a case of mistaken identity earlier in the week.
His initial diagnosis was that Camacho was critical but stable in hospital and would pull through.
Camacho quickly deteriorated after suffering a cardiac arrest and was pronounced ‘clinically dead’ on Thursday night.
Doctors stated that nothing more could be done for the stricken boxer.
‘Macho’ was shot in the jaw in a car as a fellow passenger was also murdered.
