The bullet exited the 50-year-old’s face before becoming lodged in his shoulder, although early reports are that the Puerto Rican could be paralyzed and may never walk again following the shooting.

Dr. Ernesto Torres has stated that his condition is ‘critical but stable,’ and Camacho’s life is not said to be in any immediate danger. However, he is fortunate to be alive.

“Camacho’s condition is extremely delicate. His physical condition will help him, but we will see,” he told Telenoticias.

HECTOR CAMACHO CAREER

Camacho, who last fought in 2010, losing to Saul Duran, was sitting in a car when a gunman opened fire, leaving one man dead and the 88-fight veteran fighting to survive with severe wounds.

‘Macho’ claimed his first world title in just his ninth fight as he won the WBC super-featherweight title in 1983, before going on to pick-up world belts at lightweight and light-welterweight.
