Garcia knocks Morales out in rematch

Garcia, 24, repeated his victory over Amir Khan in similar devastating fashion to defend his belts and move on to bigger and better things, with his name now well and truly in the mix with boxing’s best young talent.

After a typically slow start in the first round, ‘Swift’ found his feet in the second, before a crunching right hand in the third round gave an indication of what was to come from the champion in the very next round.

It came and when it did, it came in the form of a truly masterful left hook that spun Morales around and down on to the canvas and would have put any of the top 147lb fighters in big trouble at the very least.

It marked the end of the fight instantly and the end of Morales’ career in the United States as ‘El Terrible’ announced his intention to fight just one more time in his native Tijuana, before hanging up his gloves after a stellar ring career.

The sky is now the limit for undefeated Garcia, who could well be linked with Rios, Pacquiao, Alexander and even Mayweather after producing another stunning knockout of a highly-respected fighter.
