Two-year ban for Ali Adams
Former Audley Harrison opponent and Prizefighter contestant Ali Adams has been banned for two years by the UK Anti-Doping Agency after testing positive for stanozolol on the back of his stoppage loss to ‘A-Force’ earlier this year.
The 30 year-old Iraqi-born Londoner, who suffered his fourth loss in eighteen bouts to the former Olympic gold medallist, will now only be able to box again from June 13, 2014.
UK Anti-Doping spokeman Graham Arthur confirmed that the positive test resulted from “a targeted, intelligence-led test’ and that the steroid “is banned at all times in sport, there is no reason for it to be found in an athlete’s system.”
Adams follow British heavyweight Larry Olubamiwo in receiving a lengthy ban for drug abuse.
