Ishe Smith sceptical of Peter Quillin clash

Smith, 33, scored an impressive fourth round stoppage win over Ayi Bruce in May after hooking up with Mayweather Promotions and is looking to concentrate on a run at 154 after a short and unsuccessful run at 160lbs.

The American is open to breaking from his immediate goal to face the undefeated Quillin as the two have taken genuine dislike to each other following months of mud-slinging and a fight in the future seems inevitable.

“Qullin wouldn’t fight me if he had an extra arm and god blessed him with a third eye,” Smith told World Boxing News.

“The guy is obsessed with me, he constantly hits me up on Twitter talking shit and running his mouth.

“It’s like this, if you’re not going to tell Al (Haymon, Quillin’s manager) or Goldenboy to make the fight, then stop hitting me up and pump faking the fans.”

There is obviously no love lost between the two fighters and Smith has a burning desire to end the feud if Quillin wants to accept the fight, with Canelo’s date of September 15 a possible stage for the contest.

“I honestly don’t like the guy, that’s just how I feel,” Emphasized Smith. “If I had the opportunity I would beat the dog shit out of him.

“Everyone knows that I am back at 154lbs, that’s something my team knows and I have relayed that message to Leonard Ellerbe and Floyd Mayweather. But Qullin is the only middleweight I would fight at the moment, that’s how much I can’t stand the guy. I am willing to go back up to middleweight to prove to the fans he is a fraud.”
