Former IBF Light-Heavyweight Champion Glen Johnson looks set to drop back down to super-middleweight for the first time in ten years to join Showtime’s Super-Middleweight Super-Six tournament.

With Andre Ward the only man to be guaranteed a place in the next round, it looks like the 41 year-old Jamaican is to be the chance to get back to winning ways as he takes on Allan Green.

Despite losing in his last title challenge at light-heavyweight against Tavoris Cloud, Johnson will have to shed the pounds for the first time since 2000, when he last made 168lbs in a victory over Toks Owoh.

The other two match-ups in the tournament are set to be rubber stamped soon with November 27th the likely date for Andre Ward v Andre Dirrell and Carl Froch v Arthur Abraham.

Former WBC Champion Froch 33, pulled out of the first scheduled bout with German Abraham, but it now seems that the fight will take place in Helsinki, Finland with Dirrell and Ward’s venue still yet to be announced.

With three points for a knockout, two for a win and one for a draw, the other five boxers have it all to play for.
