Peter Fury: We are moving on, Haye fight won’t happen now

Upon hearing the untimely news that David Haye has suffered a cut in sparring and has had to postpone the upcoming pay-per-view fight with Tyson Fury, trainer and uncle Peter has exclusively told WBN that the fight is off permanently.

Haye, 32, announced today that a deep gash will prevent him from participating in the eagerly-anticipated domestic clash with Fury on September 28 in Manchester, although the former WBA champion did state that he wanted to reschedule the contest.

Peter Fury has now closed the door on Haye's offer and admitted that the news is a massive blow to Team Fury, who will now look at facing a new opponent when Tyson returns to the ring soon.

"We move on from Haye now and look to better things," a disappointed Fury told World Boxing News.

"It's up to the general public what they perceive has took place here, but we want genuine fights.

"This has put a bad taste in our mouths so were moving on and the fight will not be rescheduled on our side."

25 year-old Fury was on the cusp of an IBF eliminator against Kubrat Pulev when he decided to focus on a high-profile battle with Haye, but now faces a waiting game to see what further opportunities will crop up in the division.
