Wilder agreed a deal with Fury to face-off before the end of the year after talks to battle Anthony Joshua collapsed and Lewis wants to see the trio make it their business to negotiate.
There’s no doubting Wilder, Fury and Joshua are the best of their generation and after this year’s blockbuster in Las Vegas, ‘The Pugilist Specialist’ is keeping his fingers crossed that there will be more to come.
“They are all very good in their different ways. Which is why I want to see them all fight each other the way we did in the last golden age for heavyweights. It would be fascinating to see which way it shakes out,” Lewis told The Daily Mail.
“Anthony has a terrific right hand which makes him dangerous. Deontay has an even bigger right which completely concusses anyone if he connects and he is also faster on his feet.
“Tyson is perhaps the most difficult to beat. He is remarkably mobile and athletic for a man 6ft 9in tall and has that very long reach to go with it.
“His evasive style makes him very awkward to get to,” he added before responding to a question on how he would have coped facing all three.
“I would have boxed each one differently,” stated the former Olympic gold medallist.
It could be a full eighteen months before Joshua gets in the mix due to his desire to clean up the mandatory challengers, whilst a rematch between Wilder and Fury would be highly possible in 2019 dependent on the outcome.
Should Fury take Wilder’s belt in a closely run encounter, a second fight in the UK would certainly be on the cards and keep fans entertain until Joshua is ready to join the party.
