His rival is former Olympian Paddy Barnes, and this fight is on a card that will star Carl Frampton, at the Windsor Park in Belfast.
Cris is confident that: “Irish eyes are smiling,” and that the fans will applaud his willingness to come to Paddy’s backyard, plus his singular will to win saying:
“I’m in phenomenal shape to defend my crown. This training camp has been excellent. We have total confidence of defeating Barnes.
“Even though he had a good career as an amateur, I’m going to show him that I am the champion.”
Barnes has had just five fights in professional boxing, with only one KO, but he had a solid career in amateur boxing, winning two Olympic bronze medals, at the 2008 Beijing Games and London 2012.
Rosales, on the other hand, dished up a gigantic surprise on April 15, when he knocked out Daigo Higa, in nine rounds, to win the flyweight crown of the WBC.
