Dereck Chisora in amazing comeback, KO’s Carlos Takam / Katie Taylor impressive

Takam was relentless and didn’t give Chisora an inch to breathe but ‘Del Boy’ stood tall and used his jab to back the Cameroonian up.

Chisora landed a thudding lead left hook in round five and Takam shrugged it off. Round six saw Chisora showboat by standing in his home corner waiting for Takam as the onslaught continued.

Shortly after, Chisora found some success from a straight right followed by clubbing hooks, Takam fired back but looked tired on the bell.

The seasoned Chisora was motivated by the crowd the Londoner to go for the jugular and a right hook sent Takam to the canvas in round eight.

Takam got to his feet and Chisora made it look easy slugging an overhand right instantly to win the incredible fight in 1:01 of round eight.

At the time of the stoppage, Chisora was well down on the scorecards.

Also on the bill, world champion Katie Taylor retained her unified lightweight titles by stopping Kimberly Connor in three rounds.

Connor lost her confidence quickly against the superior Taylor but managed to open score some damage under the Olympic star’s right eye in round two. 

Certainly game but largely outclassed, Connor was broken down by Taylor. who found a way through in round three to stun her opponent multiple times.

A three-punch combination ending with a long right hook stopped the fight with Connor out on her feet.

Conor Benn versus Cedrick Peynaud 2 lived up to the hype of the first battle back in December.

Peynaud started strong in the early rounds ensuring a war in round two where the Frenchman was dropped after blows were traded, although it did look like a slip.

Continuing to trouble ‘The Destroyer’, Peynaud was fading into the second half as Benn upped the ante. In round seven, the body shots took its toll on Peynaud after a straight right to ribs forced him to take a knee.

A right hook from Benn in round nine urged Peynaud to take a knee again saving himself from an onslaught. Peynaud gave it his all but in the end, Benn secured a wide unanimous decision to pick up the WBA Continental strap.

Olympic star and light-heavyweight prospect Joshua Buatsi used speed and solid punches from the off to score a first round KO win over Andrejs Pokumeiko.

Throwing a left hook followed by a straight right, Buatsi dropped Pokumeiko in the opening exchanges.

The Olympian continued to apply pressure, and a left hook sending Pokumeiko to the canvas again sealed the deal, ending the fight within 1 minute and 56 seconds.

Man of the people David Allen secured himself a shot at the British heavyweight title after fashionably knocking out Nick Webb.

Webb’s work rate controlled the first few rounds but Allen was landing the more eye-catching shots from the opening bell.

Allen threw a thunderous overhand right which sent Webb to the floor with shaky legs, unable to get back to his feet with one second left in round four.

The O2 crowd couldn’t have been happier as ‘The Doncaster De La Hoya’ thanked them all for their support.

Anthony Fowler impressed the O2 crowd in his first step up in opposition against a game Craig O’Brien.

The Liverpudlian was sharp and calculated with his punching using head and body movement which urged O’Brien to throw wild punches.

Despite a bright start, O’Brien was dazed a few times in the contest and struggled to gain success after the opening two rounds.

Eight seconds into round six, Fowler unleashed a lead left hook which ended the fight immediately with O’Brien’s head bouncing off the bottom rope.

Former British light-heavyweight champion Frank Buglioni returned to the O2 victorious against Emmanuel Feuzeu.

Momentarily finding himself in a war during round four, Buglioni eventually took his time and found his rhythm from round five onwards.

Buglioni’s sharp right hands to the body in the sixth were sufficient for Feuzeu’s corner to decide enough was enough. 

Light-heavyweight Charlie Duffield followed the opener by using a stiff jab and short solid bursts to wear down Reinis Porozovs. After round three, Porozovs retired on his stool improving Duffield’s record to 6-1 and still with all wins by knockout.

The first bout saw cruiserweight Richard Riakpohre defeat an out-of-depth Elvis Dube to improve to 7-0.
