Joe Joyce joins Chris Eubank Jr. in RULING OUT Whyte v Parker bill, announces trainer split

Joyce, 32, was linked to facing Nick Webb on the London card as a replacement for the injured Kell Brook, although ‘The Juggernaut’ is focusing his efforts on securing a new coach following an amicable split with Ismael Salas.

“To be clear, I was never scheduled to fight this month,” explained Joyce after promoter Eddie Hearn named him as a possible option to co-feature on Whyte v Parker.

“I was alerted by my promoter when I got back from my holiday a few days ago that there could be a potential fight against Nick Webb on July 28th.

“As it stands I don’t have a trainer, as he has now moved to Doha and moved into semi-retirement.

“I will announce my new trainer in due course. I will fight any heavyweight in the world with notice let alone Nick Webb who my team have previously offered the fight to twice.

“I will happily Fight Nick in September, so if Eddie wants to put it on the AJ undercard. I will be more than ready.

“Also, I would like to take the time to thank Ismael Salas for all his help and improving me as a fighter. I wish him all the best in his new venture in Doha,” he added.

Salas himself gave a response to Joyce’s announcement by saying: “No matter what I will support you in a spiritual way. Keep going at the good work, believe in your self and get every day the best of yourself at the Whoever you trust in as your trainer (you both are) the ones who sacrifice the most and are unknown heroes. God Bless you all the way to Top!”

Fellow Brit Chris Eubank Jr., who was added to a Sky Sports promo for the Whyte v Parker bill before changing his plans, confirmed he would be focusing on a different venture, believed to be the undercard of the World Boxing Super Series final between George Groves and Callum Smith.

“To be clear, I was never scheduled to fight this month,” stated Eubank Jr. “I’m in Las Vegas right now training hard and there will be an ‘official’ announcement on my next fight soon.”

Hearn is now working on drafting in more reinforcements as the Pay-Per-View line-up for his next Sky Box Office venture diminishes.

With just eleven days remaining, Hearn faces an uphill battle to convince fans to part with their hard-earned cash for the event.
